Harbour
Paphos harbour is picturesque, full of traditional fish restaurants offering
local cuisine.
The Fort in Paphos
Located at the end of Paphos harbour, the fort is a well known landmark.
It has a long and interesting history and has played an important role.
Amathus diggings.
An active archaeological site, where, according to the legend, the pregnant
Ariadne was abounded by her husband Theseus after his fight in Minotauren.
Located a few minutes drive from Limassol.
Aphrodite’s Bath
50km north of Paphos lies Aphrodite’s Bath. The area is naturally
beautiful that one can easy see its association with the goddess of love
and beauty.
Ayios Lazaros Church
One of Larnaca’s biggest sightseeing attractions, Ayios Lazaros
Church is built over the grave of Lazaros. They say Lazaros was brought
back to life by Jesus; he then travelled to Cyprus and remained there
till his death. The church is an outstanding example of Baroque workmanship.
The fishing village Ayia Napa
The little fishing village is well worth a visit, despite the fact it
has become a major holiday resort. Ayia Napa has managed to maintain its
original identity and amongst its many attractions is the medieval monastery.
Chrysoroyiatissa Monastery
Located 40km outside Paphos is the picturesque Chrysoroyitissa Monastery.
It was founded in the 11th centaury, but the buildings that exist today
are about 300 years old. It hosts many religious ceremonies and is still
the home to an order of monks.
